it's been a long long time! feeling as sleepy as ever but i have to get this done somehow! i have loyal readers! *smillessss*alright, shall blog in chronological order...for one who lacks organization in life this is the best i can manage...
27/8 & 28/8: Basking @ ORchard! first day was not good at all i have to admit...i couldn't find a way to persuade people to donate, besides making a constipated attempt at singing my lungs out, catching some attention, attracting little cash...(besides those from my supportive family & friends!)... people said i should have smiled more and try to appear less tense....so i decided to let go on the 2nd day... & i can proudly say that my efforts weren't futile =) i guess there were many factors to the 2nd day's near-success...(lots of room for improvement but i feel it was not bad considering it' s our band's first gig!) i felt more like myself on the 2nd day of busking...we were in front of coffee bean at wheelock place..the wind was useful in creating a "mtv" effect, or so i felt... so i pranced and danced and crooned and yelled (melodiously, i insist) -- eventually attracting more attention then i expected (probably coz i expected little). there were strangers donating, faithfully standing at a side to enjoy the rest of the performance (i could even recognize a few); some were fortunate to be dining al fresco at coffee bean, appreciating the entertainment as f.o.c. as sunlight....there was a caucasion who came forward in the middle of her meal and popped a 10 dollar note into the donation box....there were others who simply applauded without any intent to donate...but that was more than enough for me......
from the bottom of my heart i thank those who took some time off to support us at our basking!! my endearing family members of course, wankai, tings, kenneth, yuyan (thanks gurl), adora & mad's gang, maria (go lecture the rest of r&b!), yifang, jiangyue, yiling, other hc-ians whom i do not know (eg. david's friends, jona's mates...), and the loyal passers-by.... =) ...and of c0urse, my bandmates -- mad, jona, david & brian... i'm sorry i'm kinda useless coz i'm really clueless about the instruments and set-up and stuff, so i was frustrated at myself...but i hope i've sort of made it up by giving my all during the performances =)
teachers' day celebrations! : a day which i have been waiting for...my first solo singing performance in hwachong, and the presentation of my first choreography for m.a.d. as the new hiphophead... (wah, i can feel the laziness setting in so ain't gonna go into details...) the audience was wonderful, or should i say, my friends were wonderful...big thank you to hons and kailing and whoever who started the handphone-waving thing...it was such a magical sight from the stage...imagine how enchanting it was, having a spotlight on me, singing to a sky of dancing stars -- more romantic than some bgr-star-gazing activity... the dance was good too i guess, though mistakes were made by some... at least i felt good and people complimented...they loved the choreography & energy! miss lim even smsed me to convey mrs. chin's message: "...that you were v gd. next time become popular like superstar mustn't forget hwachong... :p" hahahha...funny but encouraging...then there's mr. remedios who asks for me to sing for mid-autumn festival celebrations......... finally, i'm setting off right here in hwachong...not just in nanyang anymore......=)
just some random recollections: both wankai and tings just couldn't see eye to eye with me that clara is the cutest, most adorable & doe-eyed little plushie tiger in the whole wide world...i'm devastated, and so is clara. though she doesn't say it straight out, i could see through her eyes that she was hurt. thanks to both of you! =/ and yes i genuinely think that my darling little clara is immensely adorable, so wankai you needn't push her soft little head aside just to ask if i really think she's cute coz i wouldn't mind her hearing the answer...and nomatter what, my love for clara is the shiniest facet of the shiniest diamond...the saltiest droplet of the saltiest sea! you know, when i told her you missed her, she's quite pleased really... and oh yeah, i cut my hair.
